New Nokia E90 Firmware Available!!

Finally, New firmware version for Nokia E90 Communicator has become available at Nokia Software Update. The version 200.34.72 involves several new functions for the communicator, i.e. Flash Lite 3 support enabling Flash video playback and new Quickoffice 4.1.27.5, which is more powerful than the previous version (3.85). In addition we’ve got improved software performance and some corrections.

Nokia E90 Communicator is a S60 smartphone packed in a landscape clamshell form. It features small external and wide internal displays, a numeric and QWERTY-keyboards. Nokia E90 Communicator incorporates all essential stuff for a modern cellphone ranging from 3G support to GPS-navigation and a pair of cameras.

Update: Tis firmware was actually Beta and we only meant for the beta testers to download it. Well, beta or not its on some E90 tester and the phone feels faster than before, the realplayer is more responsive, wonder what was left out of this beta version (apart from demand paging, and direct album art) the contacts access is a little on the slow side.

New Firmware v. 7.40.1.2 Now Available !

I think this new firmware not available world wide yet. But at least it now available at my city, Jakarta, Indonesia. The largest E90 costumer in the world :)

If you live in Jakarta, just go to your nearest NPC, and ask this firmware for free.

update: here more coverage from my-symbian.com :
Nokia has just released an updated firmware 7.40.1.2 for the Nokia E90 Communicator. At the moment, the update is only available for selected product codes (markets/languages) and unfortunately I am still waiting for my E90 version to be supported :( To get the update, download the latest version of Nokia Software Update program. Users who already updated their E90s report on our E90 Discussion Forum that AGPS is now supported (obtaining satellite fix is extremely quick now and the GPS receiver works great even indoors; make sure that positioning server in your settings is now supl.nokia.com as this can be changed to the old address if you restore a backup), Floating Point Unit (FPU) has been enabled (FPU version of Quake I works now smoothly even on the large internal screen) and the device feels considerably faster.

Interim Firmware Version7.38.0.2 for E90 Released

Allaboutsymbian always have great coverage over Nokia E90 news. This time Steve informing us that some E90 users have gotten their hand on a new firmware that includes the much-talked-about A-GPS. It seems that this firmware version 7.38.0.2 is just an “interim release in a few markets.” Apparently the full release will be numbered: 7.40.0.2 but now word on when we can expect this. I have a feeling that we might see this in the next couple of weeks. What other new features do you think they will include in the next release?

Coming Soon, New Nokia E90 Firmware!

With so many problems in current Nokia E90 firmware, this is a very good news for every E90 owner!. Nokia have just updated the E90 "software updater" in preperation for a big firmware upgrade. Well, they have not yet released the firmware that will include the AGPS. The version 07.24.0.3 is still the current firmware, and the new version will be 07.38.0.2. As per allaboutsymbian.com the firmware will only come out in the first week of october..

The next firmware version will undoubtedly support A-GPS. In the firmware version 12 for the N95, this considerably reduced the lock time for the GPS receiver. New Nokia map has some good feature too. Unfortunatelly not many information I could get for this new firmware.

Jonmorris, my-symbian.com forum member have just returned from a London event with Nokia (where they launched the very impressive E51) and got speaking about the E90 firmware. The new firmware with A-GPS is now done, but it won't go out to the public for a couple of weeks. The only way to get it done at the moment is internally at Nokia. I presume this means they're still doing some final testing, but other improvements will be in the form of an updated version of QuickOffice.
